Future Plans

While the COVID-19 pandemic posed significant challenges, Clearly was able to maintain its basic operations at the Children Foundation Trust (CFT). However, many schools like CFT are located in remote or inaccessible regions across Pakistan, making it difficult for children with undiagnosed refractive errors to receive the care they need. Clearly’s goal is to empower these schools to conduct preliminary visual acuity screenings, helping identify children who may have undetected vision issues.

The Citizens Foundation (TCF), a non-profit organization managing one of the largest privately owned networks of low-cost formal schools in Pakistan, provides education to over 280,000 students across 1,800 schools nationwide. In April 2023, Clearly’s founder, Mikaeel Habib, met with TCF co-founders, Ahsan M. Saleem and Mushtaq K. Chhapra, to discuss the potential implementation of Clearly’s visual acuity screening methods in their schools. Expanding efforts to more schools in Pakistan through TCF’s network is a key objective for Clearly.

Before scaling up operations, Clearly had planned to run an additional pilot project in 2024 at another non-profit school. Greenshield Public School was selected for this initiative, and in collaboration with the Layton Rahmatullah Benevolent Trust, Clearly successfully expanded its services to the school. Read more here.
