About
Clearly is an initiative that aims to provide basic ophthalmologic care for those who do not have access to it. Our work takes place at charity schools in Karachi, Pakistan, where we can reach students from some of the most underprivileged communities in the city. Our primary objectives are raising awareness for refractive errors in these schools—given their high prevalence and impact on learning in a classroom environment—in addition to diagnosing and correcting these refractive errors.
Our Work
We conduct preliminary visual acuity screenings at charity schools in Karachi and work closely with LRBT—the largest provider of free eye care in Pakistan—to organize further eye examinations for the relevant students. Through donations from the local community we are able to provide students with eyeglasses. Our collaboration with LRBT also allows us to arrange treatments and surgeries for students that may need more intervention than basic refractive error correction.
